Will import cars ever be considered a classic?

I've always wonder whether import cars will ever reach a state of notoriety and status like their domestic counterparts. Domestic classic hot rods have always been well known and the demand for them doesn't seem to dissipate any time soon. It's actually the opposite. Ford brought back it's classic Mustang design, Dodge's Charger and Challenger, etc. Will Honda eventually bring back the first generation (1973) Civic design? Perhaps the import cars is still fairly new consider the domestic cars have been around since the 1960s. Will import cars ever reach this state?

I think it'll happen but only time will tell. I would love to see Honda bring back the original CVVC!

My question is, will it be as light with a Kseries turbo in it? Not a bad idea though.

bring back the 92-95 civic design in 2010, that would be nice. but I think the reason why imports like civics could never be classics is because there are too many of them, they are too common, and they don't break down as much as domestics, so they will always be around, blow a motor replace it for $100 depending on which motor, and your location.

If classics are defined by the quantity of a certain car still on the road in the future, there are certain Japanese cars that fit that criteria. The ITR is one, the Skyline GTR is another.

Oh yea I would love to see Honda release a K-series CVVC!
